Chicago Area Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame is a tribute to business leaders who have had an impact on their local communities. The honor is given to government officials, students, and business leaders are all able to use this award to inspire entrepreneurship. Mark Tebbe has been actively participating in entrepreneurial education for more than three years. He has served as judge and mentor in the University of Chicago Booth New Venture Competition; Adjunct Professor of Entrepreneurship at Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation; Entrepreneur-in-residence for College of Engineering UIC; as well as being recognized as an expert on emerging technology with contributions published nationwide.

Chicago Urban League Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation

The Chicago Urban League Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation offers entrepreneurs of color the chance to establish, grow and maintain their business. Supplier diversity certificates and bids to bid on private or public contracts can be acquired through mentoring for business and networking opportunities and financial tools as well as access to funding. Additionally, free entrepreneurial webinars and mentors for startups are provided.

The Urban League provides assistance to over 6,300 entrepreneurs and job-seekers in Chatham. When it grows, supporters are able to help fund this expansion with planned gifts for the Urban League; such donations guarantee that its mission will continue to the next generation.

Every IMPACT Fellow will be paired up with an African leader from the community they live in, creating a knowledge exchange between generations. Entrepreneurs who attend nine monthly training sessions will be required to do homework during the sessions to be part of the presentation of their growth plans after their IMPACT fellowship experience. IMPACT Fellows also have access to shared workspace at 1871 and other incubators during the program.

Sunshine Enterprises

Sunshine Enterprises aims to help businesses with the highest potential that have limited resources grow their businesses, and to improve their community. Their 12-week Community Business Academy and ongoing Support for Business Acceleration Services (such as microgrants, coaching, workshops and networking opportunities) assist in this process.

Sunshine gives entrepreneurs access to financial assistance, which is typically the largest obstacle in starting or growing a business. Sunshine's Business Coaches collaborate one-on-1 with each entrepreneur to assess what type of financial assistance is needed and develop a strategy to get the funding. Furthermore, Sunshine works with a collection of finance partners that include Chicago Neighborhood Initiatives, Byline Bank, CIBC Bank and Wintrust Community Bank among many others.

Rising Tide Capital's model serves as the foundation for local-0 (gratisafhalen.be) this organization's operation; President Obama has praised their impact on the lives of people and reviving communities through the organization's Community Business Academy, with 94% of graduates being able to start new businesses and jobs when they graduate from this course.

Sunshine Enterprises provides local entrepreneurs with assistance through UChicago Local. This partnership with UChicago Medicine and the University permits the realignment of the procurement department to utilize the local suppliers that can provide competitive offers. This will help grow small-scale businesses that are located in Chicago and also contributes to the social initiatives of the university. UChicago Local also links local entrepreneurs who are served through Sunshine Enterprises with other programming such as Chicago Innovation Exchange or Institute for Justice Clinic on Entrepreneurship located at Law School and expands opportunities.

Incubatoredu

INCubatoredu gives students an opportunity to learn about entrepreneurship through the creation of their own business. Students will be assisted by a mentor or instructor in every class, who help with the projects they are working on, like washable foot inserts and social applications.

Students will learn to improve their concepts as they progress through the program. It includes market studies, research on customers and ideas explorations, prototype building, and pitches. This program helps improve cooperation and problem-solving skills, as well as teaches students to swiftly adapt to changes.

Every year, each team participates at the INCubatoredu National Pitch to compete in the search for funding to start their new ventures. The event is known as a shark tank-style contest which provides great chances for teams to connect with investors.
