After a week and a half of gameplay in Old School RuneScape, I can honestly say this has been the luckiest and most fun period I've had in the game since 2009. From insane RNG moments to hitting massive milestones, Season 3 of maxing a main has already been unforgettable.

From Level 3 Skiller to Main Account Progress

After finishing my level 3 skiller at the end of 2023, I started my first main account in over 15 years. Season 1 focused on early-game progression, Season 2 brought mid-game goals and the first fire cape, and now Season 3 is all about completing every quest and taking on nearly every boss cheapest OSRS gold has to offer.

Early in the season, we hit multiple 99s, starting with Strength while fighting Deviant Specters during a Slayer task. Hitpoints, Slayer, and Attack followed closely, each milestone marking significant progress toward our Season 3 goals.

Slayer Adventures and Major Loot Drops

Slayer tasks dominated much of this week, and the RNG was absolutely wild.

Magma Strikeorms & Lava Strikes: Early on, I was fortunate to get a dragon metal sheet on my first kill—a 1 in 100 chance drop—giving a great start to the season.

Woodcutting Pet: While AFKing at Woodcutting, I received the Level 76 beaver pet, my second pet on the account.

Enhanced Crystal Teleport Seed: On an Elf Slayer task, I managed to land a 1 in ~1,100 drop, netting 1.7M coins.

Commander Zilyana: After multiple attempts using ecumenical keys, I completed 25 kills, marking the boss off our Season 3 list and gaining 13.7k XP, along with my 99 Hitpoints—the fifth 99 on the account.

Skill Cape Highlights

After hitting 99 Strength and Hitpoints, I purchased the respective skill capes. While the Strength skill cape perk is underwhelming (teleporting to a specific spot), both capes look fantastic aesthetically and are a nice nod to nostalgia from older private servers.

Tormented Demons and Demonic Gorillas

Tormented Demons provided excellent Slayer XP (around 1,000 XP per kill), allowing me to hit level 83 Slayer with relative ease. With 180 kills completed, I became confident in my approach and looked forward to trying Demonic Gorillas once assigned a Black Demon task.

Black Demons introduced one of the most memorable experiences in OSRS for me. During this task, I achieved a series of unbelievable RNG moments:

Zenite Shards: Three Zenite shards dropped in under ten kills, totaling 60M GP.

Other Notable Loot: Light and Heavy frames, a ballista spring, and 22.8M GP from the task overall.

These rewards not only funded a Torture amulet purchase but also helped progress toward future high-level gear goals like Primordial boots.

Strategy, Tips, and AFK Moments

Throughout these adventures, I balanced intense boss fights with more AFK tasks like Spectres for ancient shards or woodcutting. Learning proper Slayer mechanics, prayer flicking, and using budget gear guides proved essential for both efficiency and enjoyment. Additionally, observing bosses like Scatizo and Tormented Demons highlighted the importance of combining patience with tactical combat strategies.

Season 3 Progress and Next Steps

With multiple 99s achieved, the Torture amulet acquired, and over 57M GP in cash stacked, Season 3 is shaping up to be one of the most successful yet. Remaining goals include tackling Daganoth, major arena challenges, and potentially removing unnecessary items like the Black Graceful and certain skilling outfits from the goal list, streamlining progress further.

Final Thoughts

This week and a half has been a rollercoaster of luck, milestones, and exploration in OSRS gold. From crazy Slayer drops to finally mastering new bosses, Season 3 has provided some of the best content I've experienced in years. Whether you're a veteran player or just starting your main, OSRS continues to deliver unforgettable moments that keep us coming back.
