Mid-Tier Bossing Experience – She's a step up from Obor or Bryophyta, giving you a taste of real boss mechanics without being overwhelming.

With these six skills under your belt, you'll find that bosses once thought impossible suddenly feel manageable. It would be even easier if you had a lot of RuneScape gold to help you. You'll die plenty along the way, but every wipe is a lesson. Keep practicing, stay patient, and soon you'll be escaping the mid-game grind and walking away with the drops you've been chasing.

Old School RuneScape bossing journey by taking on Sarachnis, the fearsome spider boss lurking in the Forthos Dungeon. Often underestimated as just a mid-level encounter, Sarachnis is actually a fantastic stepping stone for players who want to break into PvM while earning steady profits. In this guide, we'll cover everything you need to know about the fight-requirements, mechanics, gear, kill method, and what kind of loot you can expect.

Requirements & Preparation

To take on Sarachnis comfortably in 2025, you'll want:

Combat Stats:

65+ Attack, Strength, and Defence (80+ recommended for smoother kills)

70+ Hitpoints

43+ Prayer for protection prayers (the higher your Prayer, the easier the fight)

Quests & Access:

Sarachnis resides in the Forthos Dungeon, just west of Hosidius.

The easiest way to get there is via a Skills Necklace teleport to the Woodcutting Guild, then run east.

Supplies:

Sharks, Karambwans, or better food

Super combat potions for damage boosts

2–4 Prayer potions (depending on trip length)

Emergency teleport (just in case)

Gear Setup

Here's a sample mid-level setup that balances DPS, Prayer bonus, and survivability:

Weapon: Osmumten's Fang (best-in-slot accuracy for mid-tier players)

Helmet: Fire cape / Slayer helmet if on task

Body: Fighter torso / Proselyte hauberk

Legs: Ancient chaps / Rune platelegs

Boots: Dragon boots

Amulet: Amulet of Fury / Glory

Shield: Dragon defender

Gloves: Barrows' gloves

Ring: Warrior ring (i) or Berserker ring (i)

This setup prioritises melee DPS with strong accuracy, while still allowing for enough Prayer sustain to last multiple kills per trip.

Boss Mechanics

Sarachnis isn't a mechanically complex boss, but she has enough unique attacks to punish unprepared players. Here's what to look out for:

Basic Attacks – Sarachnis uses both melee and ranged attacks. Keep Protect from Melee active to negate most incoming damage.

Web Attack – Every four standard attacks, she launches a sticky web that can root you in place. If you're immobilised, keep calm and eat food if needed.

Prayer-Piercing Hits – Occasionally, her ranged attack will hit through protection prayers, so bring some ranged defence and food for safety.

Minion Spawns – At around half health, Sarachnis summons two spiderlings:

One uses Magic

One uses Melee
These don't have high defence, but they can quickly overwhelm you if left alive. Kill them immediately before resuming DPS on Sarachnis.

Floor Webs – She sometimes weaves the ground, restricting your movement. Just reposition carefully and avoid being trapped while tanking damage.

Step-by-Step Kill Method

Prayer Setup – Start the fight with Protect from Melee active. If your gear is weaker, you may consider Protect from Ranged, but melee protection is generally safer.

Engage the Boss – Begin DPS with your main melee weapon (Osmumten's Fang is highly recommended for accuracy).

Deal with Minions – As soon as Sarachnis spawns her spiderlings, switch targets immediately and kill them. Ignoring them can lead to stacked damage and interruptions.

Manage Resources – Drink Prayer potions when needed

Use food sparingly until you're healthier

Keep your DPS high to shorten the fight and reduce overall damage taken

Finishing the Kill – Once the spiderlings are down, resume focus on Sarachnis. Stay aggressive, and she'll go down quickly.

Loot Table & Profit

Sarachnis is known for consistent mid-level profits and solid supplies. Here are some example drops from a short session:

Kill 1 – Dragon bones (~39k RuneScape gold)

Kill 2 – Rune platebody (~38k GP)

Kill 3 – Mithril arrows (low value)

Kill 4 – Cosmic runes (~10–15k GP)

Kill 5 – Kharidian silk (~18k GP)

While not every drop will be a jackpot, Sarachnis consistently provides mid-value loot like rune items, seeds, herbs, and runes-perfect for stacking steady GP while training combat.
